The Dark Planet The Dark Planet
This fine band is just me, my cornet, a hard disk recorder, and various sonic toys.Band/artist history
This is music I did alone in the span of about a year and a half when I was between bands. It was a very important time for me; I discovered who I am as a musician. With solo work there are no excuses. The music's strengths are my strengths, the music's weakness' are my weaknesses.Have you performed in front of an audience?Nah, not with the solo thing. It's mostly just me pushing buttons. I did it once and everyone was like "cool music, but you're just siting there pushing buttons." I play live with "The Left Channel," a kick ass psychedelic band.
Your musical influences
I'm what happens when a trumpet player listens to Miles Davis, day and night in high school, and Pink Floyd, day and, well actually in those days there were generally only nights) in college. Some other influences: Paul Simon, Trane, the radio show "echos", Don Ellis, and Shakti. What equipment do you use?
Custom Zeus Cornet by Taylor, an old Yamaha electric organ, AW4416 Yamaha hard disk recorder, Electrix Repeater.Contact

Hello Chris,
I listened to the "Dark Planet"...and it freaked me out..very sacry and spacey sounding stuff..i enjoyed the the thrill though, keep up the good work man! I voted this song HOT to help you out in the charts, Let me know when you have new material up, I would like for you to listen to my song "If You Could" sometime when you get the chance...thanks and much respect...

I'm glad you like my music. The strings and voices on testimony for Cornet are real. They were performed by my wife, Erin(cello) and roomates Kristin Gordan George and Tom George (voices). I don't unsually bother crediting them because they literaly only played one or two notes which I looped.
Hi Chris,
thanks for posting on my area on soundclick. I just wanted to say I checked out your music its really cools. Reminds me a lot of the kind of drones you get in places by LOW and brian Eno. It has a l.ovely timbre to it :-) were you using the string sounds off the organ?
cheers anyway and keep up the good work. Accoustic instruments always sound so much nicer than electric ones!!
