Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Stakato wrote his first rap in 1993 at the age of 13. He first got on the turntables september 1994. He hooked up with Geoff at the same time and Geoff started writing raps around then as well. In 1995 DJ Stakato made a beat tape with 2 turntables, two mixers and two tape decks. From these humble yet meticulous beginnings he eventually rented an Ensoniq ASR-X and then an Akai MPC at different times between 1998 and 2001. The only recording software we had at that time was a tape deck, so there was still another step to be made. In 2001 we recorded a 5 song album on Geoffs computer. In 2002 Stakato got a computer and now the Altruist is in full effect.
