How many people do you know who actually knew what their life goal was before they could even tie their own shoes? Probably not too many. You'd be likely to label it impossible until you meet Cheez Da Producer. A product of the Bronx in the 80's, Hip-Hop was continually fed to this youngster through aural injections and a cultural explosion which only helped to create a proverbial "Hip-Hop Monster."
This love for the boom bap, b-boys, graffitti, rapping, breakbeats and the like lead Cheez on a mission early in life. As a youth Cheez picked up dj'ing and the electric bass. This combination only increased his enamor for the art. With crates of vinyl at home, Cheez would search for the original songs that were sampled to make new hits. He made it a point to study his favorite producers' styles. Simultaneously, Cheez expanded his ear playing Jazz, Latin and Rock. This continued throughout high school and college.
But it was in college that Cheez would truly realize his destiny. During this time Cheez learned a very valuable lesson: how to move a crowd with turntables and a microphone. This was only the beginning. Soon after, he began teaching himself production and engineering which paid off the most. After graduating Cheez continued his self taught methods and continued to learn. Eventually he was approached by various up and coming artists to produce and mix their albums. Recording in places such as barbershops, the sidewalk and his own bedroom, Cheez perfected his skills by trial and error. Now 8 years after starting, he is back home and ready to create a music history all his own.
From the streets of the Bronx to the serene setting of middle america, then to the frigid whereabouts of Central New York, Cheez Da Producer has seen all sides of life. This experience is evident in the music he creates. From his occasional, yet creative, use of samples to his orchestration of urban symphonies, Cheez shows the many influences of his life through music. With a label now in hand and a slew of ravenous young artists, Cheez is ready to bring his sound to the masses.
