Charlie is from Grove City, Ohio. He has been playing and singing for as long as he can remember. Growing up the youngest son of a fire and brimstone Baptist preacher, he learned at an early age to jump, shout, and share the spirit. He has played with several local bands, most of which played classic and southern rock and roll as well as some country. His influences are the classic rock bands of the seventies such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Molly Hatchet, and Eric Clapton. When he’s not performing solo he fronts for the band Bad Influence.
When performing solo Charlie plays an Ovation doubleneck and plays a wide variety of hits and misses from Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Eagles, John Mellencamp, Travis Tritt, Toby Keith and others. His playlist is full of songs you can sing along with and he is sure to please almost anyone.Have you performed in front of an audience?I play usually 4 to 6 nights a week at local bars and dives. It's the only way I can make a living. I'm too scared to steal and too lazy to work! Almost anytime you can be on stage entertaining people it's a "special moment".
Your musical influences
I like almost anything older. Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Ted Nugent, Bob Seger, Alabama, Elvis, etc.What equipment do you use?
In my solo act I use an Ovation Celebrity double deluxe and a Bose Personal Amplification System. If I'm doing a jam session or open stage night I provide a Crate PA system instead of the Bose because it has 8 inputs. With my band I use a Gison Flying V through a Marshall JCM 800 and a Digitech GNX2. I also use an Ovation mandolin and Ovavation acoustics.Anything else?
I was really stumped at having to choose a musical category. I don't really fit in any one place and I'm sure most musicians are the same. I play a variety and have fun doing it. E-mail me for a schedule and see for yourself!
