Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
CES AKA Cedric Blackwell was born February 12, 1979 in Statesville North Carolina. Growing up in the south, CES started rhyming at age 13 while growing up in Double Oaks, a Troubled Neighborhood on the West side of Charlotte, North Carolina. CES ability as an MC became clear shortly after joining Crooked Souls, a local Charlotte Group that did Shows at events Such as West Fest and Coca Cola Street Jam. After Graduating Independence High School in Charlotte, Ces Became a Member of QC Fam and Continued to captivate audiences with his Ol School/New School appeal and his Street Hop character. CES Solo Career has developed over a span of 10 years. With countless battles under his belt and with appearances in Charlotte Venues Such as The Sugar Shack, The Baja Club, The Tunnel, Champs, The Vault, and The Empire, CES is a seasoned lyricist with a unique style that can both Captivate the Streets and engage the Masses
Ces was introduced to J&M ENTERTAINMENT. in July of 2003 where he has continued to develop his feel hood, blue rap style of flow. With musical influences such as Marvin Gaye, Prince, Busta Rhymes, and even Suga Hill Gang, and with J&M as the team, Ces is ready to make his presence known and felt world wide.
