My name is Catfish J. Rivers. I welcome you to try out my music on your ears. My style is a unique one, a hodgepodge of psychedelic mind expansive world inclusive sounds and ideas. My songs can range from an acoustic guitar song to a programmed electronic mayhem, and even further still to a full sounding future rock ambient jazz rock ensemble. I didn't listen to any music until I was 13 or so. My mother bought me 3 tapes, Thriller, Born in the USA, and the Footloose Soundtrack, and told me it was abnormal to not listen to music. Slowly since then I have matured into an open minded, self taught guitarist, bassist, drummer, keyboard player, and any other instrument I can manage to make some sound. I think and breath music all day and night, often singing my responses in a conversation or a joke to the occasional annoyance of my friends. I tap on anything within reaching distance. There are always new songs in my head...Have you performed in front of an audience?I play out live as often as I can...it is what I live for, the rush of opening up my self for an audience of new ears, hopefully waking a few up along the way.
