Truly a breath of fresh air, Omega One has assembled a sound that some can consider to be needed in the hip hop industry. This duo, comprised of Cash Bridgez and Cruga Morrison, are completely different individually but together they create a sound that is unique and fresh. Their entry to into the hip hop genre could not have been timed any better, coming in at a time where hip-hop is hastily becoming selfless and predictable. "What we set out to do from the start was actually make a contribution to hip hop," Cash says "I love it when someone says that we don't sound like anyone else and that we have a sound all our own." The two have been making music together since 2007 but have been rapping since 2006. Cru goes along to say “When we first started, everything was unorganized and we really didn't have a format or structure to our music. So we sat down and analyzed what type of music we wanted to make and now we just hope the people gravitate to the sound we created thus far."
From their first meeting in 2004 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where they are stationed as members of the U.S. Army, they formed a close knit friendship before music was a contributing factor. With deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan under their belts, they believe the military had a huge impact on their very demanding work ethic. "We get up early and leave late. Once you get use to it and you can get to do it over and over." says Cash Bridgez, the 23 year old Sacramento, CA native who met the 28 year old Mississippi native Cruga Morrison months before their first tour to Iraq. Cru adds "There are times where we get in the studio at 11am and don't leave until midnight. Then turn around and get back up at 5am to be on time for formation." Omega One is dedicated to their craft and creating music that people can relate and identify with.
The West Coast, Down South natives will be releasing their first collective project “The Contemporary Gentlemen of Hip-Hop” in the latter part of 2008. When asked about their independent status in hip hop Cru states "We are just looking for a break. Hopefully, with the hard work that's being put into this project we'll be exactly where we want to be." If different is better, you better be different.Have you performed in front of an audience?Of course! What makes us entertainers is the ability to get out in front of people and do what you love to do and the people love you for doing it. Playing for the troops in afghanistan was definitely cool. The sound was messed up but it was a great crowd.

Frank Sinatra, Fourplay, Outkast, DPG, Roots, Tribe Called Quest, Mac Dre, Rakim, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Ziggy Stardust, Pac, Biggie, DJ Quik, Jay, Nas, NWA, Rick James, Goodie Mobb, Eryka Badu, The Doors, Led Zepplin, and George Clinton.What equipment do you use?
Pro Tools is cool, but it depends on the sound If we don't like the sound we'll change the program. We use anything from Cakewalk to Sonar.Anything else?
