BIO- Carolina Guerrillaz ( C.G. )
Hailing from the less sunny side of Charlotte, North Carolina, Big Bronze a.k.a. Dirty Hand, Young Murk and Dim Dare are The Carolina Guerrillaz. Before coming together to form the group all of the members where paying their dues by seizing any and every opportunity to be heard.
Born, Mario Martelli Clark- Bronze, the founder of C.G., started showing signs of a super star as early as the age of 3. His mother took notice to his interest and bought him a drum set. He began to free style whatever he felt turning the beats into a sound. Shortly thereafter he moved on to entertaining the neighbors by dancing and rapping at gatherings, drawing crowds that would look on for hours. Being a Rap Artist/Entertainer changed from a hobby to a career path for Bronze at the age of 15 when he had his first recording session. From there, he has put out two independent albums, Face Danger- 1997 and Revenge of The King- 1999, both albums where successful and made him a regional celebrity. In addition, he was the free style champion on Power 98 Fm in Charlotte North Carolina for nearly three months and made his acting debut with stage play Im Bustin Loose - 2001. In the mist of working in the Carolinas Bronze began making trips to Atlanta to start back working with music producer Stephon of The LabTeks Productions who produced records on his 1999 release. The two came together to work on new material and focus on Bronzes rap career. In 2002, things would take a turn the better when Novelist, now aspiring Music, Film and Fashion Mogul, Omar Tyree was holding auditions for his feature film, Move the Crowd. Bronze auditioned, however he was not chosen after the first round. Determined to showcase his skills, he asked producer Stephon to travel from Atlanta to perform live on stage at a party Mr. Tyree was hosting for the cast. They where immediately sought out for the upcoming project. Since then all parties have come together on several efforts to include, a sound track CD to the novel, Cold Blooded (released 2004) which featured hits from Bronze such as The Hitman, and the title track, Cold Blooded featuring Bad Boy Recording artist Carl Thomas. Give me Dat Beat Volume 1 -The Mix Tape was also released. With even more exposure and notoriety Bronze formed a camp that could compete on a world wide level. Many where called but the chosen were few. First, producer/rapper Glenn Brodie a.k.a. Dim Dare, who Bronze met in 2003 at a local grocery store. Then he was introduced to Johnny Horton a.k.a. Young Murk through a mutual friend. Both artist where added to the group almost immediately.
Dim, also discovered a love for music and entertaining at a young age, was first inspired by his mother and older sister who play the piano. By the time he was in high school he and friend formed a rap group. They performed in Charlotte and surrounding areas all the while Dim was perfecting his skills on the music production side as well. Before long the rap group starting to pursue individual opportunities, Dim went on to continue to create tracks. Being that production was his main role upon becoming a member of C.G. he and Bronze collaborated on the hit Gimme Some which was placed on the upcoming C.G. album. During a studio recording session, Stephon encouraged Dim to get back behind the mic and coached him into another style of delivering his lyrics. The result was a catchy laid back flow that fit perfectly with the styles of the other artist. He now serves double duty as rap artist/producer.
Young Murk, same as the other members, before joining C.G., also began rapping at an early age and was a part of other groups that has since gone their separate ways. As part of the Carolina Guerrillaz he is on the top of his game. Known as The Live Wire of the camp, his lyrics are the soundtrack to the streets of Charlotte spoken with a powerful voice. In Murk as an artist you will find a realness that has only come from the legendary hip-hop artist before him.
Look out for C.G.s Hot New Single Fresh, the Carolina Anthem Carolina, and Say What with a full length CD/DVD to be released 2005. Along with The LabTeks Productions and Hot Lava Entertainment, this conglomerate is the sound of The Carolinas in its truest form.
