Carmody
What are Carmody all about then? The music! Writing, recording, playing live its what inspires us all. The songs have been described as 'anthemic' with 'catchy melodies', 'poignant, often moving lyrics' and having 'all the components of classically British pop songs.' We just think they're good.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
We've all been in and out of bands since our teens and got together through chance really, you know, friend of a friend etc. We all had similar ideas of where we wanted to go in terms of music and after a couple of sessions everything just clicked.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We've played at venues up and down the UK. Our favourite was probably the Marquee club in London, good venue, good sound, good crowd, plus its got a lot of history.
Your musical influences
Various Artists! We all have slighty different tastes, its healthy for the music though because it brings a lot of different influences into the melting pot during the writing and recording process. To list a few: The Beatles, Stone Roses, Razorlite, U2, Rage against the Machine, Jack Jonhson, The Charlatans, Arcade Fire, Jako Pastorious, The Bluetones, and so on.....
