Captivum
The band was originally founded under the name of Hellstormer by Benjamin Eggs in 2006. At that time the line up consisted of Samuel Klinkebiel as bassist, Benjamin Eggs as lead guitarist, Simon Nehlert as rhythm guitarist and Tobias Wagner as vocalist while we were having difficulties in finding a matching drummer. For months the band initiated numerous rehearsals in order to find a drummer but the lack of technical abilities needed to play this kind of music made this search quite difficult. In winter of 2007 the band rehearsed for the first time with their current drummer Silvan Walter, but only for a very short period of time. Nevertheless, the band stayed in touch with him while the endeavour to find someone fitting got more and more frustrating. Meanwhile Samuel and Simon changed positions, now with Samuel as new rhythm guitarist and Simon as new bassist. In autumn 2008 the band rehearsed with Silvan again who surprisingly had improved extremely in matters of technique. We played two songs together as a band and shortly afterwards Silvan Walter became the permanent drummer. At the beginning of 2009, the band ended the cooperation with singer Tobias Wagner, Benjamin Eggs took over that position but stayed lead guitarist nevertheless. Shortly before playing the local concert Friday 13th the band renamed Hellstormer Captivum. In mid-February we recorded our fist studio track Rat Race at Farmer Records led by Rafael Müller and Ulf Winter. During autumn we shot a music video for the song Rat Race with Tobias Wagner and André from Stuttgart and shortly afterwards at Halloween we went to another studio to record our first demo L.N.A.. After three days of hard work at Arsen Records in Breisach am Rhein we had finished our 30 minutes lasting Demo which you can listen to here or on our homepage. In 2011 the band began to purchase professional studio equipment, to record more independently. The first testimony of this development was a new recorded Demo which was titled like our first song - Rat Race. This Demo has also been uploaded. At the beginning of 2012 we began the extensive work on our third demo Release which differs stylistically from the previous demos. The song structures became more attainable and the vocals clearly became more professional. You can listen to this demo on our homepage, too.
