To be great is to be consistently good. Greatness can be found al around us, but so often it is the overlooked areas where the greatest creations are derived. Born and raised in the inner city of Little Rock, AR, hip-hop artist Brian “Bware” Smith is on a mission to change his title to hip-hop legend. Born in 1983, Bware grew up intrigued by many forms of music, but the aggressiveness of the early hip-hop movement grabbed his attention more than any other. As a child, his older brothers exposed him to a variety of pioneers like LL Cool J, Busta Rymes, and Snoop Dogg. He admired these artists not only for their “hot records” at the time, but for their ability to consistently contribute and adapt to the ever changing hip-hop landscape.
Although he was drawn to hip-hop as a child, it wasn’t until his adolescent years that he realized his own talent. As a teenager Bware was drawn to artist like Tupac, Biggie as well as Jay-Z, because of their articulate and clever wordplay, as well as their believable stories and willingness to speak about issues that others were afraid to. These artists as well as others inspired him to begin gathering his own thoughts and putting them on display.
With help from producers G-Sizz and Ferocious of Dat Heat Productions, he was able to develop a style and musical identity of his own. With a unique blend of edgy street lyrics, creative rhyme styles, and a distinctive tone, Bware is well capable of appealing to the masses. While making an impact on the underground hip-hop scene in Little Rock, he has been honing his skills and is ready and determined to show the industry the greatness that is Bware.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yeah, I've done alot of local shows.
