Buttermilk Platform is a solo outing headed up by rock man Les Lewellyn. He is a grooved out hip dude that loves music and began writing about twenty freakin' years ago. Now he is in full form and blowing minds off of thousands of fans.
Band/artist history
I have played bass with several independent rad groove-head rock bands, including The Jukin Lizards and the Cove. Both of these bands received heavy airplay back in the late eighties on college and alternative stations. Fun and STuff magazine called the Jukin' Lizards the best band in Birmingham. Maximum Rock and Roll also gave us praise. I put the bass down and began to learn the six string about ten years ago so that I could write the tunes I heard in my head. I have just recently started playing bass again and I am loving every minute of it. I have also produced such low budget bands as Grossest National Product(GNP), Sick Reality,Gary Ryan, Stunt Pig, and Mass Confessions. After growing weary of playing the club scene I took off on tour across the Eastern U.S. for more than one year.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I toured extensively a few years back. I did a solo tour playing several months along the East Coast. From Florida to Connecticut and all States in between...Just me, my acoustic, and my lady gigging to thousands of people. I was a nervous wreck but dug every freaked out minute of it. I also toured with the cream daddy rock group "Jukin' Lizards" back in the eighties, as well as The Cove, Walk, and other alternative rock groups. The Jukin' Lizards were hailed as the best rock group in the city of Birmingham and we were on college radio stations around the U.S.. It was cool baby and things are just now getting even cooler.
