Butter band

Welcome to Butter...
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The story of Butter begins in the summer of 1995. Dean Scott and a few other guitarists, jamming weekly in a crammed basement in Beltsville, Md., quickly add a ragtag group of musical misfits Jeff Millison on harmonica and Jay Endelman on guitar. We land our first gigs in the winter of 1996 at Remingtons, just off the military base in Fort Meade, Md. Sure enough, every week we had a gig, there was a snow or ice storm. It seemed ominous but we were undaunted. To the customer who tossed a dart into Martins leg as he was playing bass, thanks for the priceless memory. Also, to the regulars who asked if they could play our instruments while we were in mid-song---its a lot funnier now. Over the years the band developed some pretty good straight ahead rock and roll, some swing, and threw in a wee bit of funk to keep things moving. After a couple of great shows at the National Press Club in DC in 97, we fell into the loving arms of the Baltimore/D.C. rock club circuit. Many of the clubs we played are gone or have new names (Baltimores 8X10, Sebastians in Annapolis, Lewies in Bethesda, and Chelseas in Georgetown) but hey, whose fault is that? In the meantime, were still out there, soldiering on into the night. Dean Scott, Jeff Millison, Bill Von Till, and the Men of Butter
