Burnt Toast (Colorado)
Burnt Toast is a blues-inspired band that has appeared numerous times live, recorded several originals and is currently just takin' it easy in the studio.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Moved to Colorado and was re-introduced to percussion by Dana who introduced me to Ray, the instructor, who asked if I would jam with Kim, the electric bass student. Kim brought Randy, the blues guitar player and Randy brought along Jack, the sight-challenged key player. That first 4-piece played back in the 90's (remember those?) around southern Colorado.
One day, the band mostly forgot to show up for a gig and the drummer fired them. Eventually, Randy would return to be joined by another Randy on guitar, Bruce on bass, Margene on flute and Bob on drums - this was the lineup into the 21st century.
Randy 1 has long since departed and Randy #2 went solo for years. Meantime, the three remaining band members continue to jam Thurs. nites as they have for the past 15 years or so...
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Certainly - it's much preferable to the alternative.
