Burning Tent Revival is a rock band with many different elements. It is a progressive, emotional, nearly sonic experience.
Band/artist history
Burning Tent Revival is one of the few survivors of the once booming Kalamazoo music scene of the early 90's. Known as Killswitch during that period, they played shows all over West Michigan and took part in what some called "the next Seattle scene." Most of those bands have long since disbanded, but the members of Killswitch didn't falter, in fact they grew. With the addition of another guitarist and a new drummer, they changed the name of the band to Burning Tent Revival. Brothers Bill and Jeff Clements are the two original members. Bill provides the band with not only solid but exquisite bass lines. The singing duties are fulfilled by Jeff who also plays guitar. With the departure of their long time drummer, they had to find a replacement. Along came Jimmie Jones, an unknown talent in the area that had yet to be tapped. Soon after they set out to acquire a more refined sound and decided to add a second guitar to round out the band, this gentleman was Matt Lund. Each member now contributes to Burning Tent Revival, and the material that has been created from that shows how well the pieces fit together. The most notable item that sets them apart from average bands is their ability to create their own sound and weave it into a melting pot of genres. Essentially the music is drawn from rock, but from a progressive standpoint with an emotional hook. You can hear influences from across many musical canvases with each of the members drawing from a variety of sounds to create a melodic, yet disturbing picture for the ear. With the first CD nearly completed and having filled venues in the area such as Harvey's and The Club Soda, along with a variety of local music festivals, BTR is now ready to reach other audiences
