Burning January (US)
Burning January is a moody mixture of melody, screaming, catchy hooks, and floating guitars. Like many of the bands in this new rising genre of "whatever"-core, the band is heavily dependent on their live show to capture and display their sound and presence.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
We started around September of 2001. At the time it was just Jeff, Micah, and me (Jezy). We didn't really play many shows or anything, but it was a start none the less. Josh joined the band around February of 2002 which allowed me to move to guitar and vocals, which really seemed to be a nice little formula for us.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We usually just play North Texas and Southern Oklahoma a lot. Of course we love it. There's nothing else really like it (except for Nightrider).
Your musical influences
Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Thursday, Finch, Piebald, Saves the Day, etc.
What equipment do you use?
The crappy kind.
