Progressive Metal

We are Buried By the Ocean a melodic hardcore band from Grayslake, Illinois. After being a band for several years as different names, and going through several line up changes, BBTO found a sound that can not be replicated, with melodic progressions, smooth jazz solos, hardcore breakdowns, eerie synth, hard hitting screams, beautiful singing and irregular time signatures Buried By the Ocean has a sound thought out and ready to share with the world. We do what we love, and we love what we do. ...
Band/artist history
The band has had many changes throughout it history. We started out as a punk band but didnt stay that way for long. When we stated listening to bands such as Avenged Sevenfold we got turned on to heavier sounds. We started to get into bands such as August Burns Red and Between the buried and me. We grew tired of playing metalcore and decided to go go into the direction of melodic hardcore. Influenced by the melodic sounds of misery signals and the ghost inside and the technical yet luscious sounds technical bands such as between the buried and me. That is the Buried by the Ocean of today. Who know's what the future holds. One day we could decide to play something new altogether.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We love playing live shows. It is one of the most thrilling experiences ever. Watching everyone's reactions to our music is amazing. We play in venues around our home town of Grayslake, Illinois. We have played in such places as the Rave in Milwaukee. one of the bands most special moments is when we played at the Rave in Milwaukee. One second we had no audience and the next second the entire room was filled with people. It was truly amazing.
