Among his early professional credits were performances as a guest vocalist for an on-board Calypso band for Carnival Cruises. Deciding to head west to Los Angeles in hopes of expanding his career, Buppy formed his own band and became Buppy & the Uplifter. Now when he is with the live scene that uplifting music section, The Uplifters, represents him.
His repertoire consists of the universal reggae styles: Dancehall, Roots and Culture, Lovers Rock, Jungle, Dance and Calypso.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Hes been consistently capturing audiences in some of the hottest nightspots in southern California, including, Hollywood Park, Hollywood Highlands, Galaxy Theatre, Club Moomba and 14 Below. He also participates in annual events and charities like Best Buddies of California for the deaf and disabled, a tribute to Dennis Brown the Prince of Reggae, Cuts for Kids, for Big Brothers, A Taste Of The Nation benefit for the homeless at Universal Studios.
With his rapid-fire lyrics and charismatic stage presence, Buppys infectious reggae styles have also captivated audiences in Chicago, New York and Kentucky, garnering him critical acclaim in the Chicago Tribune and a growing fan base across the country.
