Buddhas On the Atkins Diet
Hey guys. We're Buddha's On the Atkins Diet. This band consists of Adam and Michael. We're a hippie power pop acoustic folk experimental jewish band made at camp ramah in wisconsin. And yeah. Peace and love mann.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
So it all started when young boys, Adam and Michael became friends the summer before freshman year at Machaneh Ramah in Wisconsin. Adam brought his guitar to camp and so did Michael, so they decided to start playing music. This led to such songs as Buddha's on the Atkins Diet, and Butterfluff Pies (and also a song entitled Nudist Colony, which we completely forgot)
By the next summer, Michael and Adam had become pretty good friends and went crazy on making new songs. Within the first few weeks, they had completely written 3 more songs called:
Go Monkey, Go
Miles Berson (originally Jeremy Berson)
Superheroes!
After BOTAD played Go, Monkey Go! and various other songs for the campwide talent show, it seemed that their fame had just started. They were known all over camp, and everyone enjoyed their simple hippie pointless lyrics.
After that, there were a few more songs that were created, which led up to their first ever CD recorded at WRMH radio station by Chompers.
And over the course of the rest of the summer, one more song that still remains untitled was created by BOTAD.
Outside of camp, BOTAD has played once at Adam's house, and hopes to play many more shows in the future to come.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We've played live a lot. Mostly at camp because Adam lives in Chicago, and Michael lives in Cincinatti.
We played at the campwide talent show, where we first became big.
And we've played a lot of shows after that, including just playing in the open for people to hear.
And at one point (and another coming soon) Michael went to Adam's house to play a house show with a pretty big turnout.
