Born and raised in Harvey, Illinois, Cassell James, known as B.Sweetz dA LiGht, is a proud product of the Chicago South Suburbs and a self-proclaimed Raptivist, TrU mC, and BooM BooM BAPtist.
Through his music, B.Sweetz creates healing, empowerment, cultural unity, love, and romance, using rhythm as a gateway to reimagining community. Rooted in lifelong community service and a reverence for music’s spiritual power, his work embodies courage, resilience, and collective healing of the African Diaspora.
