Bryan Grant
Artist Bio
Bryan Grant composes, arranges and performs easy listening jazz instrumentals with a flair for dreamy melodies and a soothing, positive vibe. Im an anesthesiologist, I put people to sleep for a living. How apropos! he jokes of his profession, quick to note that if the opportunity came along, hed leave it all for a chance to pursue his musical passion all day. Being creative is important to me. Its a place where you can really be yourself, and what comes out, comes out.
Music was Grants passion as far back as when he was a child and taught himself to play the piano, while visiting his aunts house and studying his nieces piano lessons secondhand. His family was given a piano as a gift when he was a teenager, and Grant promptly glued himself to the bench, learning all the pop songs on the charts and picking up on their arrangements. Never dreaming of music as a career path at first, he joined the military and lived around the world before deciding on a career in medicine. When he returned to civilian life to go to medical school he found himself the newest member of his brothers band. He would play keyboards with the band and ironically, the man who is now known for his instrumentals, was also its lead singer. Playing with other live musicians would prove to be a turning point for him as a musician. I learned chording and arranging patterns from that experience, and then started coming up with my own songs and arrangements.
As his professional career advanced, music remained a focus and Grant continued writing new material with thoughts of someday recording a CD. I just sit down and start playing. Something catches me when Im playing it and Ill lay down the track. Sometimes I have to come back and work on it, and other times all the pieces come together at once. In the beginning, Grant figured he might eventually come up with lyrics for his ever-growing stack of songs, but several years into the writing he decided that they should really just be left as they are. It would be more fitting with his goal as an artist, which is to create music that makes people feel good, and can take their mind wherever they want to go.
Less than a year ago, Grant realized that with advances in technology and an ever-growing venue for independent music and artists became possible, that the time had come for him to put together a CD. He took his selected tracks to Liquide Sounds Studio in Chicago, where they were re-edited, engineered, mixed and mastered. The result is a rich, lush sounding production, but for Grant, its a start, and his dream is to someday play his compositions live amidst a full orchestra.
Whether his future includes a record deal, soundtrack scoring, or simply recording more self-released CDs for appreciative fans, Grant will continue to create music from his heart, with hopes of sharing it with others. I would like to offer inspiring music that doesnt tell the listener what to think - it lets you go ahead and reflect on your own. Id like to provide that conduit to help you relax; to touch your soul.

For Immediate Release
Bryan Grants Debut Collection of Jazz Instrumentals
Think Of Me, Now Available
Chicago area composer, Bryan Grant, is pleased to announce the release of his debut CD Think Of Me. Grant is a self-taught pianist whose dreamy, upbeat brand of new style jazz is sure to please fans of instrumental pop composers like Jim Brickman and John Tesh. Grant composed, arranged and performed all the music on this 12-track release, which was recorded at Liquide Sounds Studio in Chicago. Think Of Me is available through CDBaby.com, OutboundMusic.com, The CD Store.net, Acupofmusic.com, JamIndiana.com, and multiple digital download MP3 internet music sites. It is also available as ring tone downloads across Asia.
Lush, swirling production and playful hypnotic melodies are the earmark of Grants impressive collection Think Of Me. The title track is a slow, thoughtful piano study accented by a chorus of soothing synths that captivate like waves crashing on the shore. The mid-tempo pick-me-up Worth Taking, starts with a catchy, upbeat piano and takes it soaring with airy cymbals and blasts of faint percussion sounding like the billowy stream of inspiration. Fans of John Tesh brand instrumental heroism will instantly recognize a kindred spirit in Motion, with its galloping beat and sea of atmospheric percussion. In all, the 12 fresh tracks showcase Grants considerable talent as a composer, but what makes this collection even more unique is the way that his optimistic, soothing nature shines through.
Think Of Me, is Bryan Grants first recording, but the talented composers thirst to play music goes back to his childhood, when he taught himself to play the piano by studying his nieces piano lesson, secondhand, at his aunts house. Playing has been his passion ever since and has always been a priority even as he traveled the world in the military and returned home to pursue a career in medicine. While in medical school, his brother recruited him to join his band and playing with live musicians would prove to be a turning point for him as a musician. I learned chording and arranging patterns from that experience, and soon began coming up with my own songs and arrangements.
His collection of original songs grew from there, and now, after years of wanting to make a CD, he decided that there was no better time than the present. Whether his future includes a record deal, soundtrack scoring, having his music orchestrated and performed, or simply releasing more self-released CDs for appreciative listeners, Grant will continue to create music from his heart, with the hopes of sharing it with others. I would like to offer inspiring music that doesnt really tell what to think - it lets you go ahead and reflect on your own. Id like to provide that conduit to help you relax, to touch your soul.

Man... i could use one of ur songs as an instrumental and make a hot song out of it...contact me if u are interested...
Nice job with In My Dreams, really great piano work - the perucussion sounds are mixed well and the strings are good as well, like the dynamic changes in there. The song seems to slowly build for an adventure and then come back home. Reverb on all the instruments is great - I'll admit sometimes I overdo it on reverb, I did a Christmas album and with some of my saxophone stuff it was a bit too much, oh well. When you can, let me know what you think of my stuff, I have a lot of different styles up here, but I have some easy listening stuff as well. Just did a remix of the Tetris song too (ah yes, the game in which, if there was no gravity or fatigue, would be possible to go on forever...) so when you can let me know what you think of my stuff, thanks!
