Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
In March of 2007 the all Guyanese members band in its first international tour to Jamaica backed five reggae artistes at the 'earthday celebrations' of Natural Black and was well celebrated. This band which created the tracks for the 'Wise decision' album has conquered Guyana and is aiming to dominate the region. To date on the local shores the band has backed international artistes the likes of Collie Buddz, Mr. Easy, Kiprich and Natural Black and is the most sought after in Guyana for all mega events. The Brutal Jammers band members during their trip to the land of wood and water', Jamaica tested their skills against members of the various studio bands at established organizations such as Tuff Gong and Caveman studios.
Marketing Executive Duane Duncan sharing the Jamaica experience said that Jamaica would readily accept a jazz musician or R&B crooner than anyone offering what they consider theirs: reggae. In stating this he noted that it was therefore considered a monumental achievement by the group to have been accepted as a member of the Jamaican music family by artistes on it first outing.
Natural Black, following the show gave the band and its members, eight out of ten for their performance but has since improved on this rating to the point of having the band exclusively produce this album.
Having made an impact at Natural Black's show the band was invited to perform at the Jamaican CWC 2007 Local Organizing Committee's 'From Jamaica with Love Rock the World' concert.
In Guyana the band came together in November of 2006 and backed all the mega local artistes at he launch of what some dubbed the start of the musical revolution in Guyana. Since then there has not been a dull moment as the band has performed also in Barbados as part of Crop-over Celebrations, 2007 and at every major international concert in Guyana. Those shows include artistes the likes of Destra, Allison Hinds, Guyana music festival, Sherwayne Winchester etc. The band has been adopted by Natural Black as his personal backing band for tours in Guyana, the Caribbean and internationally.
