For the past several years I've been playing in cover bands doing only minimal originals. Now I've decided to break away from covers and do only original material.I have a classic/hard/alternative rock style.I'm more of a feeling player and writer. When I write a song,it is usually a personal feeling or situation I went through in my life. Then I play on that emotion. And so far I aint had no complaints!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Playing live is what it's all about. I'll play live any time I get a chance. They're all special but Main Street Bar & Grill in Harrisonburg VA.We stole the show(LITTERLY).Theres also this one wedding I played,to make a long story short, the last song we played was You Cry You Complain and everybody started fighting.Guess the truth really does hurt.
Your musical influences
My start is music is largely credited to my mom (Brenda Floyd), dad (Mike Floyd), Mammaw (Elei Dudley), Grandpa (Tom Dudley), Great Grandpa (Bill Dudley) and last but not least Vicky Wines (My 2nd mom).My parents were the first to turn me onto Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Ted Nugent, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Who,Eric Clapton, AC/dc, Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Eagles and all the other late greats we hear on any classic rock radio station. My mom was always getting me to sing along with all the songs. And dad was always encouraging me to be flamboyant and unique. My parents were always pushing me to listen to new and different music. My grandparents gave me my first stereo. It was a Fisher receiver/8 track/turn table. They also gave me all of my moms, aunts & uncles k-tel albums. In the evenings when I got out of school I'd go to my grandparents and all evening I'd stay in my room there and listen to all those albums really really loud and they never once complained about it. I would sing along with the songs and act like I was center stage and my mammaw would come in and sing with me. Vicky Wines is my mom's best friend for life and she showed me how to turn it on. And by that I mean just say hell with it and be as goofy as I can but with style. Just not care for a little while and do it. Whatever IT may be. My great grandpa had a 1940's electric silvertone and I just couldn't stay away from it. Everytime we went to my great grandparents house, I knew it was off limits but, I just had to go and try to play it and everytime I got caught and well you can guess what kinds of discipline was handed out. Later in life my great grandpa passed away and the silvertone was handed down to me and to this day I still have it and it symbolizes my start in music.
