Psychorock... audacious guitar, soulful bass, electrifying drums, and neurotic vocals... welcome to Broken Temple.
Band/artist history
Formed in January 2002, the Seattle band played their first show in April. A month later, Broken Temple surprised many by taking first place in the Rock 'N' Roll Round-Up 2002™. Out of 11 hard rock bands from Washington, California, and Idaho, the tenacity of Broken Temple earned them the title, "Last Band Standing." The band then used this same title for their July debut album release. "Last Band Standing" is now available on brokentemple.com and in major Seattle record stores. The band is in the process of promoting the CD through different publications and shows. A west-coast tour is in the near future. Andy Poen Wu is the singer, songwriter, and guitarist of Broken Temple. His influences include Metallica, Tori Amos, Edgar Allen Poe, and Jin Yong wuxia novels. Bill Woods plays the electric drums. He has been in 10 different bands and worked as a studio musician with styles as varied as Celtic, Jazz/Rock fusion, New Age, and Opera. Andy's younger brother, David, is on bass. A fan of Pantera and System of a Down, he is the rebellious soul of Broken Temple.
