Broken Sky consists of Race Baker, Rory Baker, and John Brakefield -- who have all been in various bands since childhood. Race and Rory Baker also are involved with a side project (along with Race's friend since childhood, Austin Turner)called The Red Brain (http://redbrain.iuma.com). Over a year or so ago, Broken Sky was known as Soul Disposal where they played dirty bars and teen recreation centers. After a strange hiatus they have reformed under the new name and have set out to defy all genres and pigeonholeing, and to break a few skys above the current mundane landscape of musical plasticity.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yeah, in and around the Oklahoma City area. We like it fine. Special moments? So far our moment was when the bass amp kept cutting out, and John destroyed it with his guitar. It deserved to die.

Smashing Pumpkins, The Doors, My Bloody Valentine, Love, Brian Wilson, Syd Barrett, Neil Young, ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, The Burning Brides, Queens Of The Stone Age, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Flaming Lips, and the Beatles (of course).
But a recent observer pointed out that we sound like a "Lo-fi Post-Pixies Rock band".

Anything we can get our hands on. Old P.A.'s. Busted Crate amps. Broken drum heads. Cracked cymbals.Anything else?
Most of the tracks here were recorded on a small digital recorder out at Matt "Sound Machine" Grimes' Airplane Hanger (thanks to him for that). They aren't fully mixed yet, and a high-pitch sound came up somewhere in the converting/encodeing which flaws some of the songs. But we're working on it.. I think..
