Broke Down Engine - Sort of a Blues/Country/Rock/Jammy experience. Roots music loosely defined.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
We all hail from NYC and the surrounding area. Hooked up after playing at enumerable open mic blues jams and decided we wanted to play more that 3 songs in a sitting! We wrote originals that people really seem to go for. We play a lot of blues standards and some country rock stuff to keep it interesting.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yup. We play around NYC and occasionally North Jersey. Hogs and Heifers uptown is a great place. Gigs can be tough to get in the city but it's worth the effort
Your musical influences
Very diverse influences. Pretty much every well and not so well known blues players. Rock legends like Hendrix and Clapton. Country pickers like Johnny Hiland, Danny Gatton, the Hellecasters. Lots of Jazz thrown in. The Dead, Phish, and Moe for their jams.
