Hello Brett,
Like the gypsy stuff. I have a Carvin guitar too, a bolt kit.
Its in the closet now. It sounded bad through a Carvin amp . It sounded great through a fender hot rod deluxe. That amp blew up and I gigged a lot with it through a blues Jr. with a 2-12 cab.That rig sounded fair but not great,
I put some Gibson pups in it and it sounded terrible for some reason. Then I put some single coil dimarzios in it and it was even worse.So I bought a Gibson es 339 and mex Strat.The Mex Start is great. The Carvin neck was the best by far. No fret noise, real stable and a dream to play. I hope to get it actually sounding good one of these days,like you do.
