Brace Face is an avant garde band that usually creates bizzarre moods in it's songs that vary depending on the intent of the album. Brace Face writes music much like a director directs movies, carefully molding the shape of the song in many ways in order to tell a particular story of sound with music and composition. Throughout the band's career it has covered many musical styles, sometimes in one album or even song. But no matter what is done there is a signature Brace Face sound that remains on every album. Also, they released the new album A Dream Oddyssey and the new single is titled Privat School. It is Quoted by Don Jerret to be one of the simpler straighy ahead songs and with it's shorter length was a good choice for a single. Most of the songs on the album are pretty accessable even though they could definately be described as avant garde. All of the songs on the new album are based on different dreams that many people have that are reocurring types. Some of the songs are aimed to be accurate depictions mood wise and others are loosely based . The end result is a vivid and complex group of strange and somewhat crazy ,yet very cohesive compositions. As another note . They are currently supporting the album on a national tour of 35 states during October through the end of December. Then look towards Australia for January. For dates go to BraceFacedream.net or if that site is still acting up you can contact me here and I'll personally give you the info you need. Shirts will be on sale soon along with other collectables and souvineers.
Band/artist history
Brace Face was created by in 1996 . Joe Howell met Larry Grandall in Till Nabraska at Attuberry Highschool. They played in several eclectic bands including Froth, and Mesbvah. They moved to San Fransisco to go to college where Larry studied Psychology and Joe Majored in engineering. They met Don Jerret whom also played in bands with Heith Kur of Jazz fame in such avant garde bands as the 1st incarnation and Jungsilk. They played all together in this line up plus then bassist Phil Mc Que for 1 year touring under the name Plaque. They replaced Phil with a more like minded individual named Ray Atkins and his long time friend and Keyboard Player Danny Jones. When Larry's Mother found out she had Lymphoma the whole band moved to FL so Larry could take care of Mom. They still play there constantly, usually under pen names and with guests. All members are in there early 20s and have already made names for themselves with people Like Mike Patton, Bill Laswell and also such persons like John Zorn on different Cobraesque albums.
As a special note of interest, Brace Face's new album ( A Dream Oddyssey) is out and they put the single Private School up on soundclick. It is getting a bunch of air play on south florida college radio and internet radio stations such as Scottymouth.com. In an interview with long post magazine, vocalist Joe Howell said "This single ( Private School) is not totally representative of the new album as a whole. There are so many different bizzarre moods covered on this album with some songs being more technical than others that we just chose a song that was more straight ahead and shorter for our quote, single. Most stations are still not interested in some of our more avant garde compositions." So check out the single and if you like it e-mail this soundclick site and we'll hook you up with a copy of the album,( A Dream Oddyssey). Most likely for free with Brace Face's permission.

usually under a different name and with different guests. But this year they are doing a special support for their new album, A Dream Oddyssey and will be under there real name with select secret shows under a pen name. Look out for them. They are unreal.
