Band/artist history
Originally from the boondocks of Roberta, Georgia, Cerrone Bernard Holmes a.k.a. Boondock Holmes currently resides in Troy, Alabama. As a young academic, Boondock began illustrating skill and love for writing in his early school days. At this time, verbal expression was limited to a minimum. Upon graduating from high school and relocating to Troy to attend college, more and more the poetry began to integrate with music and thus the artist began to take form. Eventually, Boondock’s talent began to spread and receive recognition from the campus to the local streets in Troy. At parties and various freestyle sessions, Boondock’s humble, country-boy style began to standout with lyrics that strayed away from the norm. Since then Boondock has been mastering his craft, writing, recording, and performing those lyrics with every intention of actually “having something to say whenever he opens his mouth” while at the same time representing his southern roots in a sound very unique and entertaining. Boondock has been part of a local group known as Mista Knoname which consisted of Boondock, James Terry III ( Pooh Bear), and Chris Guilford(Duck) whom became local favorites and had a song entered on Montgomery, Alabama’s Hot 105.7's Homegrown program. The song was titled “From Da Grit To Da Grain” and received consistent play. This led to an aired interview. Boondock has completed two album-demos titled “I’m Coming Out” and “Holla From Da Bottom”.During the time these projects were being created, Boondock began to perform at local area clubs such as: Enterprise, Al - former Club Enterprise Alex City, Al - Club Apollo Montgomery, Al - record pools at Tha Rose Club Celebrations Carmicheal Center opening act for R&B group ATL Dothan, Al - Southern Nights Troy, Al - Tha Front Porch Club After 7 formerly known as Club X’s & O’s Club 29 Troy University’s Homecoming Concert opening act for Youngbloodz Recently Boondock performed in the Greg Gate’s Music Conference in Pensacola, Florida.
