Bonesaw emerged from the ashes of Korpse & Fester, some 10 years after their demise, when founding members Andy (Vocals), Baz (Bass) & Sid (Drums) decided it was about time that Aberdeen had a Death Metal scene again.
The idea was always to write our own material drawing influence from the likes of Autopsy, Abscess, Celtic Frost & Winter. A heavy yet catchy sound was paramount from day one. But finding a guitarist that we gelled with took a lot longer than we had anticipated. Going through four guitarists before we settled on Rob & Paul.
We were gigging for about 9 months by time we ventured out of Aberdeen. We played Edinburgh on the Friday and were asked to play Glasgow the following night. Which was very encouraging for us since we had only really been playing to friends till this point. The Glasgow gig ended in disaster though with Sid breaking a bone in his hand.
As we had already been confirmed as being local support on the Unsanctum & Burning Skies Tour and a local showcase. We set about finding a stand-in drummer to do the 2 booked gigs. Luckily our first choice, Scott (Risactonia) was able to do it and learnt our set very quickly. The Unsanctum support went well, but as it turned out Rob was unable to do the Local Showcase. Sids hand was back up to speed by this point, so he decided to take on guitar duties for this gig.
Once we got Sid onto guitar the overall feel in the band changed. Everything just seemed to click. Scott had expressed an interest in becoming our permanent drummer so we had to break the news to Rob that his services were no longer required.
Since then we have recorded our debut Demo CD Live by the Bone.. ..Die by the Saw which has sold well with orders coming in from England & Ireland. There are also plans for Merchandise & Tours in the pipe line. So all going well you shall be seeing more of Bonesaw.Contact
