AND THE BAND
THE IDOLINS

Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Claudine West has played live and in a few local bands over the years. She started playing guitar and piano at 13. Then moved on to drums. Then began jamming blues and jazz music for a while. Influenced by her love for all things acoustic, melodic. A talent for songwriting, then recording developed when she met a lead guitarist (Graham Skelton-Ruth)'Grimm' whose talent on guitar while suffering from Multiple Sclerosis was awe inspiring. They began a 10 year partnership and close friendship. A home recording studio then developed. Many songs were written and recorded. A lot of whisky (for Claudine, coffee for Grimm) was consumed and good times were had. But tragic circumstances ended the joint effort when Grimm committed suicide.
Claudine spent 2 years in the wilderness. Then (by pure chance met again a local talented singer/songwriter (Karen Turner) who they had recorded during the 'studio years'.
This new partnership carries on. Watch this space!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play live in the acoustic band THE IDOLINS with Karen Smalley-Turner.
