Blue Dust Box
A rare combination of youth, seasoned musicianship, talented songwriting and family history makes the four classic rockers of Blue Dust Box a truly powerful musical force. They create a new, yet familiar sound that is destined to bring several generations of rock fans together. Strong vocal harmonies, tasteful guitar riffs and a fundamental love of the music gives their songs a depth that keeps their rapidly expanding fan base returning for more.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Derek Arnold (percussion, keyboards, vocals, songwriting) functions as informal leader of the group. This most versatile musician learned personally from greats such as Mitch Mitchell (of Jimi Hendrix Experience fame) and Kenny Soul (of Nantucket). Given his family tree, that's no surprise. Derek's father, Harvey Dalton Arnold, earned his place in Rock history playing bass for the Outlaws. Now Derek has grown into a formidable musician in his own right, proudly carrying on the tradition in Blue Dust Box.
Kenny Bledsoe plays guitar with a style that immediately brings shades of the blues, R&B, and the best of classic rockers into the tunes. His musical talents have garnered him the prestigious Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, and his songwriting talents contribute heavily to the Blue Dust Box sound. Also from a very musical family, Kenny co-founded the band in 1999.
Mike D'Alessandro has a knack for bringing out the rock edge of the band's performance, cutting through with tasteful lead guitar work that completes the Blue Dust Box sound.
Dan D'Alessandro thunders out the bass that holds it all together. Suggest a standard bass riff to Dan and you might as well forget it. Count on his sense of humor to keep everyone laughing, too.
