Blesson's real name is Davin Chin born out of Kingston, Jamaica where he had lived until the age of 9 and then going back and forth until he was about 15. Davin was too much of a trouble maker to take care of him between that time. His mother tried to take care of him and his two younger brothers being a single mom after escaping from his father who had become violently abusive by moving to the states. Though his father was wealthy at the time Davin had been used to the goodlife and raised having everything given to him. Once his mother took him and his brothers to the states with practically nothing, Davin had to learn to become a man of the house quickly. Trying to fit in Davin joined neighborhood gangs in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and commiting many crimes as well as doing drugs. Also at the time, one thing that was positive was that he had been active in extra curricular high school events such as Army Junior Reserved Officer Training Core (JROTC) Drill team and the highschool's radio station weekly hip hop and reggae session where he promoted his group at the time "TURBULANCE CREW" and at the time he by the name of "DJ VIPER". He was heavily into music as well by being a DJ (in Jamaica that means being an emcee) performing with his group at local venues and clubs. He almost had a good thing going for his secular music career by meeting and collaborating with well reknowned Dancehall Reggae stars like, "DON YUTE", "JIGSY KING", and getting advice from others like "SEAN PAUL" and "ANTHONY B" who all had very much inspired him into music. He ended up going to juvenile for grand theft auto, evading police, and possesion of marijuana before he had finished highschool. Luckily he was only charged with misdemeanors and having to serve his sentence by house arrest and a fine only because of his promise to the U.S. Army that he would straighten up his act and enlist in the Army with prewritten up contracts. His mother moved him away to another county in Florida in an attempt to cut him off from the negativity he was so heavily involved with. After being seperated from "his world", close friends of his that he was involved with had either been killed, sent to jail, deported or just fell off the map completely by not showing their faces because of the heightened state of criminal activity that they had been involved in. Not realizing his blessings Davin still pursued into using marijuana, selling it and other drugs, and then still trying to do something in secular music by assembling a group called "MILLENNIUM SOLDIERS" of which he attempted to make it a more street righteous group yet everyone had their personal wavelengths of persoanlity they wanted to portray. However it was going no where and the time came where he had to owe up to his promise of enlisting in the Army. He married his highschool sweetheart at a young age so she could be with him while he served his "time" of military service being stationed in Fort Hood. Yet the marriage went sour and he was a rebel even in the military but somehow managed to just bearly complete his time of service and discharged with Honorable Conditions. Trying to race back home Davin drove from Texas non stop (only for gas) all the way to West Palm Beach, Florida. He made it home yet the next day after he called his buddy to go to the studio to complete their Millennium Soldiers Album he almost lost his life in a fatal accident injuring his knees and totalled his car. From being a gangster, to Army man, then back to almost nothing again, Davin was really entering a mode of depression and frustration and dealing with a divorce. One day he was set up on a blind date by a miracle of God with Grace who is now his wife and mother of his child. She brought him to her church and from there on he was brought back to the LORD and he offered himself completely giving up on all his worldly ways. Once he had been baptised Davin had became a living testament to all of his friends that God can make you new in the worst of circumstances. He became a part of the church's youth music ministry called "CHILD OF A PROMISE" where his newfound love for CHRIST has placed him to be with a calling of great magnitude to reach out to those that been in his same situation.
Band/artist history
I am in a group called BattalLion
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I perform live more than the amount of cd's I have out. I usually perform at my church VCI in West Palm Beach and a few others in the area. I love doing it just because it's for God and not myself. The biggest performance are the small ones to me.
