Formed in 1997, as an underground metal band [formally known as Metal Purge (1995-1997)]. Black Warrant continues its success with live audiences. No doubt, being one of the oldest heavy metal bands of Pakistan still active today, Black Warrant is moving towards new heights of personal and professional development, with a vision to revolutionize the music industry by producing music with a stronger message. Our main focus remains on heavy metal with diverse influences that come along with the evolution of a band made to survive. We play metal, rock, industrial depending on our moodwe do what we feel like. That is one main reason why our music is different. Ali Raza Farooqi. Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
1995 - Metal Purged was formed by two brothers 1997 - Renamed to Black Warrant and formed by Ali Raza, M.Ali. & Andrew joined in. 2000 - Andrew left for Australia and drummer gap was filled by sessionists. 2001 - Kashif joined as Lead Vocalist. 2004 - Umer & Farooq joined the band as well. 2005 - Umer & Farooq left the band to form their own. 2005 - Daniel joined in as drummer. 2008 - Deniel left the band. 2010 - Raafae Khan, Hassan Mir, Ali R Farooqi & Sam Morbid 2020 - William Gregory joined Black Warrant and contributed with his exceptional vocals and melodic compositions.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes! We always play Live. Even our recordings are not sessional. We have so far played at Spectrum (Sydney), UAE CIIT, PCIT, Mini-Golf, Hamdard, Chenone, NTU, Samarqand, PizzaHut, KFC, Dimension-X, Alhamra, The Planet and many underground gigs and concerts.
