Blackened Soul comes from Cwmbran in South Wales except Brett the guitarist who hails from Merthyr!! The band has been going for nearly 4 years now but the current line-up has been together for 6 months or so. We have decided to stick to being a 4 piece and are dropping the lengthy "solos" and concentrating on more diverse riffing and drum changes!!! Our new My Closed Fist EP has just been uploaded onto Soundclick. It sees the band take a twist in its style. The EP was recorded at Le Mons in Newport by Chris (formerly of The Darling Buds). We try NOT to put ourselves into a specific category but like our music, hard, loud and fast but "melodic" in places too....lol.
Band/artist history
Far too much history to bore the tits off you....lol
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We try and gig constantly in the South and West Wales areas playing in Newport, Cardiff, Neath, Pontypridd etc whilst trying to break into playing in England.
Your musical influences
Slayer, Metallica, Chimaira, Machine Head, Lamb of God, Arch Enemy, Fear Factory , Slipknot and many many more!!
What equipment do you use?
Chez-Singer uses Phonic Powerpod PA with 4 Soundlab speakers, 2 monitors and a Shure SM58 mic (No stand). Brett-Guitars uses Laney 150w Head and 4x12 Marshall cab with Peavey Wolfgang and Gibson Explorer guitars with Toneworks effects.. Simon-Bass uses an Ibanez SR300 Active with a Laney Richter Head and 2x15 cab. Snitch-Drums uses a Pearl Export Black 5 piece kit with Sabien cymbals and Iron Cobra double bass pedals!!
Anything else?
Just like to say that if you enjoy our MP3 then tell your friends about the Soulzz as they will probably be coming to a town near you real soon!!! Play it loud, heavy and keep it real!! No EMO fucking shit here my friends!!!
