Black Dragon band

Black Dragon is a rising force in the Calgary Metal scene. After only a few shows people have raved about the insane show atmoshere and wicked mosh pits that can be encountered at one of their shows. Playing mostly so far at the Underground, Black Dragon are hoping to be organizing their own shows soon and graduating to slightly larger venues.

Formed by Rob, Chris, and Lyndon, Black Dragon started off as a small, inexperienced cover band. After going through a few additions and lineup changes to the band, they have come to settle on a determined lineup dedicated to writing origional songs and performing kick ass shows. Marcel-Vocals Rob- Guitar Chris-Guitar Lyndon- Drums Jordan- Bass Now with many origional songs, Black Dragon has been rising up the food chain of the Calgary metal scene, Blowing the crowd away even at their first gig at The Underground. Now with School over and more free time, the band is lining up more and more shows and intends to be in the music scene for a while to come.

We have played a few gigs In basements, at party's, in schools, and our favorite one at the Underground, where we had the largest crowd and blew them away. Actually, that has to be one of our favorite moments; The ending half of Stygian ( the last song of our set at the Underground) Where it seemed that the entire crowd was moshing and the full front 3 rows were all headbanging along with the band. It was insane. At the end of the song the crowd lifted Marcel off the stage and crowd surfed him around the venue.

As a band, we are mostly influenced by bands like Metallica, In Flames, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian, Iced earth, and many other thrash / power metal bands.

Rob - Ibanez SZ running through a Crate VTX 65 Chris - ESP MH400NT running through a Metal zone pedal into a 200Watt Yamaha Jass amp Lyndon - A Crappy Westbury Set. Only good thing on it is my Iron cobra double kicks Jordan - Playing through a 15 inch Fender bass amp.
