BLACKDOG is a all original band from the Dallas, TX area. "everyone in this band is pushing each other to think out of the box,to not get caught up in labels or types of music. we dont care if a song is stright ahead rock or southern rock with some funk, as long as it sounds good!!"

Randy: Bass & BG Vocals Michael: Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar K-Swiss: Lead Guitar & BG Vocals Josh : Drums BLACKDOG was formed in 2003 by Michael and K-Swiss, Michael talks about their vision for the band. "K-Swiss and I had totally different styles, at first we clashed on what we were writing, each of us pulling in the direction we wanted, it wasn't until we were talking one day that we decided to try to incorporate each others strengths in our own style, and what we found was amazing to us, the songs quickly start to take on a life of their own , so we just got out of their way and let them develop" after writing for a few months, Michael and K-Swiss hooked up with bassist Randy the connection with Randy was evident immediately, K-Swiss recalls " Everything that we had hoped to find in a bass player we found in Randy Davis, and to top that off, he was the only one we auditioned." Finding a drummer has been a different story. After a long and drawn out process and after more than a few drummers had found their way into the Blackdog line up, The band hooked up with Josh Mclean in late 2004, If you think about it, I think it was kind of fate that we have Josh, explains Michael. Our drummer at the time was quitting and moving back to Indiana and happened to be talking to some people in a parking lot about being a drummer. Josh walked up and asked him what he knew about drums, They talked for a few and Josh got our number, 1 audition and he was asked to join the band on the spot. This band is all about how we integrate our very different influence to make the sound the we have, Josh is the 4th piece to this puzzle, When we write, we come at the song from 4 very different places and we meet in the middle We all think about the song first then how we can complement the other players. The music always comes first. BLACKDOG is poised to attack a dormant music scene, and has the hunger to claw their way to the forefront of rock music. We are into good music,Yes we are a rock band but we let all styles of music into what we do, we will not short cut the song to make it sound the way people might think it should sound.
