Bizarre Love Triangle formed in the fall of 2001 in San Francisco, California. Bored by the blandness of the 90’s “alternative” music scene, Bizarre Love Triangle vowed that they would bring back the excitement of new wave to the alternative music scene of this new millennium. Described as Blondie meets Joy Division, and Depeche Mode meets Garbage with a hint of Pat Benatar, this trio of savvy musicians blends poppy hooks with dark moods and electronic dance beats to bring to life the dormant edginess that was the original alternative music. They recently performed as headliners at the world famous “Halloween in the Castro” event in San Francisco with an audience estimated at half a million people. After releasing demos on MP3.com, they have already had all of their songs enter the top 10 most played songs and are gaining interest from around the world. Even though they have not released their debut CD yet, they are already being spun in nightclubs across America and in parts of Europe as well. After several requests from DJ’s, they are currently being played on college radio stations around the country. Bizarre Love Triangle continue to work on recording sessions for a their full-length album. Out on the road, Bizarre Love Triangle is gearing up for a busy schedule of shows across the West Coast. They have already left their mark on countless venues in Northern California. They are also regularly being interviewed live on radio and, at KSCU (San Jose), they were left with an open invitation to come back anytime because of their popularity amongst the listeners. They were recently asked to play at two shows in conjunction with major radio stations in the San Francisco bay area (Live 105 and The Mix 106.5.) All three members cite new wave as a major influence to their music but also make reference to such diverse influences as Rap, Heavy Metal, Brit Pop, and Europop.
