THEY are truly rascals; while everyTAG NOT ALLOWED in Tanjung Pinang mostly played Malayan songs, they choose rock n roll for their music. Dont bet for any Malayan in their songs, coz their music is pure modern rock.
Their name is BINTANG 5, and they are, Eka Bintang (guitar), Yadi Bintang (bass), Iskak Bintang (drum), Hendra Bintang (vocal) and Ade Bintang (guitar). They are STARS a.k.a. BINTANG from Tanjung Pinang and happen to be 5 young lads. And so happen that they are also dreaming to become stars through their music, its a simple philosophy dont you think?
In their first album hope theres gonna be 2, 3, 4 and so on was titled DUNIA AKU DAN KAMU. Dont be shocked if you get the feeling listening to The Darkness all over but with the voice of the late Andy Liany haunting you back again. And you know what Andy Liany is originally come from Tanjung Pinang. Aint it creepy. Hendras vocal is indeed very unique. Even though some people said that his voice is a mix between Andy Liany and Andi/rif but the truth is he got his own style.
Their first single, entitled IMPAS, is making them legitimate that they have da skill needed in this industries. Helped by Ully Dalimunthe (ex) drummer Debrur band, as their music director, BINTANG 5 is sure that this is the life they choose, the life as a musician. The song it self has a very solid rock character in it. Just hear from the intro, and youll noticed soon thatthis is BINTANG 5 playin . And when you get to the lyric you will noticed how naughty it is, learning how you can exchange boyfriend or girlfriend coz the other one was cheating on you. A good plan? It sure is!!
And theres DIA TLAH PERGI, a very dark song, knowing that you loved someone so bad after your boyfriend/girlfriend died, tragic isnt it. The song is very tragic indeed but BINTANG 5 made the song become sweet and elegant with a simple touch of piano.
Theres still couple more songs that couldnt stop you from listening to it, like ROCK N ROLL AJA, DUNIA AKU DAN KAMU, SAAT MANIS and KETIKA DULU. They made every song with the touch of a very cool modern rock.
BINTANG 5 called their music ROCK BLUSTER. What? Because their music is a mix or what Indonesian people called mix races blasteran, which sounds like bluster. They got influenced by so many rock stars, coz each of their member had their own influenced stars in their mind, like Guns N Roses (GNR), Steelhart, Maroon 5 and of course The Darkness. But dont expect their music is gonna be like their idols why? Thats because they have their own style and character. They said, Bluster means a very hard blowing wind, because they want to be notice as a group that blows you away with their talent in music.Have you performed in front of an audience?YES.
