Starr G. Campbell started Bigg Dipper Music five years ago prior to Hurricane Katrina. Starr was born and raised on the Westbank, (Louisiana)- 20 minutes away from New Orleans. Although Starr initially had no experience in the music business, she has nurtured the careers of multiple budding artists like Latanya P, a neo-soul artist from New Orleans, LA; NICK.B, a rapper from Marrero, LA the late(G-Slimm's Lil brother) hit single” I’m on Bang” which is heavily rotated throughout the southern region he also have a new album soon to hit streets called "Da Rap Classic"; Estella Madina, a pop artist from Metairie, LA; Young Knowledge/A-Leem a reggae/singer-songwriter and rapper from Westwego, LA and Delirious, rapper from New Orleans (MAC's) lil cousin.Bigg Dipper is now looking to get a distrubution deal for their artists/company, and production deals for their producers. Bigg Dipper is a real company doing real things. Some may ask why a married, mother of two would want to delve into the eclectic, demanding world of music management. Campbell has a love for music and developing young talented artists that surpasses even the most dedicated, music lover’s need for good music. “Making nothing into something is the most satisfying feeling in the world,” Starr says. Campbell firmly believes in developing artists musically and exposing them to the business side of the industry i.e. budgeting. Starr has studied hard to get as much knowledge and experience about the music industry as possible by working the last 6years with local promoters, club owners,producers, and Disc Jockies from radio stations. Starr has also gone to music seminar's, all over the world, worked in local recording studio's in New Orleans,Houston,Mississippi and Memphis, worked with well known people in the industry also, one of which is Lawrence Wheeler sound man for New Orleans yearly Jazz Festival, Al Spears a mixing mastering expert for Bad Boy South and one of the producer for Memphis own 8Ball & MJG, D'Jae,and Big Almo: A.D Watts producer/engineer from IceHouse Studio in Gretna, LA, Omni Productionfrom Harvey,LA, MAD Houze Production in Memphis,TN, StreetBeat from Westwego,LA and soon will be working with OnSet a new hot producer from New Orleans. Over the last past years Bigg Dipper artists have open for serveral known acts like New Orleans own Lil Wayne, Boosie Bad ass, Pleasure P from the group "Pretty Ricky" MJG and 8 Ball, 3 Deep, Tray Songz, they have been on air in Jackson,MS hottest radio station WJMI, and the Super Starr herself have hosted several concerts and party events to help promote her company and artist. Starr has also built a team of dependable music executives dedicated to the growth of talented artists and producers: Robert Spivey is the Promotional Manager;Stacey Williams is the Assistant Manager, June C Straight Creative Director, Anita George Marketing Director , Jamaine Sanders Artwork Designer and Starr's husband Jerome Campbell Sr. is the Vice President of Bigg Dipper Ent/ Music Management, and serveral other street team promoters around the world like, Charles Jones from Clarksdale,MS, Kendrick Bailey from Jackson,MS, and Henry from Get Rich Management in Marrero,LA, Bigg Herc New Orleans finest hypeman, host and producer from 102.9 radio Station, who is hosting local talent downtown New Orleans every Friday at club Marlenes Place On The River, so please feel free to come get on the open mic list. As a minority business owner, Starr and Bigg Dipper Music have been featured in multiple publications. Most recently, GRACE Magazine, did a special story on Starr and her team as an Entrepreneur Extraordinaire it featured one of her artist NICK.B, and another local up coming urban magazine HeatRock. Starr is now working on a new hott project with D'lirious, NICK, and A-Leem called DNA they will be in group together hitin area's near you. Bigg Dipper is now looking for a male R&B singer with a nice image and music background that needs the rite management to guild him in the rite direction. Known on tha streets as NICK B AKA Mo.Betta born as Morris Young III in New Orleans, LA were he grew up on the West Bank. In 1996 his oldest brother G-Slimm was one of Big Boy Records premier artist was gunned down in tha streets of New Orleans. In which his brother’s death was the soul influence on Nick’s music career. Since 1996 NICK B has appeared on several local rap artists CD’s such as Tre-8,Skulldugg,Cilla Cartel,Streetbeat Mixtape, Code 6, Talking Shit Out Loud Mixtape and Memphis own Roxxell. NICK has performed in night clubs in New Orleans such as Kenney’s Key West, Club Duplex,Rhythm City, Red Velvet and other states like in Club Unity in West Memphis,at Jackson State homecoming were he opened for Lil Boosie and Lil Wayne. NICK B signed with Starr G Campbell owner of Bigg Dipper Music Management in August of 2005 after his other brother rapper Rugged Tha Governor was gunned down in tha streets of Atlanta while tring to pursue his own music career. NICK B is also in a music group with other up coming rap artists Young Knowledge aka A-Leem, Nej and Hot Product where there known as D.L.C. (Dread Lok Cartel).
NICK has worked with serveral hott production teams and producers, like Shype Productions in Marrero,LA Streetbeat in Westwego,LA,Al Spears in Memphis,TN, Noisemakers in Memphis,TN, Omni Productions in Harvey,LA ,AD Watts in Gretna,LA, and Madd Houz Productions in North Memphis.In June of 2006 NICK B dropped his first single “Hit Tha Game” and now he is pursuing a distrubution or record deal with a nationwide record company.NICK is working on putting out his first album "Da Rap Classic" which is now being promoted heavily on the Westbank. NICK B is well known on the streets for his reggae style and rap lyrics.NICK B a true rap artist with with real rap skills and swagger that kind stand up with the best of them!
