Welcome to our band page. We're ,
a duo who love songs from Irish, Scottish, and
English traditions, as well as Irish traditional
dance music. We try to combine the best of vocal
harmony and instrumental virtuosity, without
sacrificing the soulful quality that has made
this music last for centuries.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
We met in 1998, performing at the same venue with
different bands. We originally got together to
do classical music (!), but started singing Irish
ballads, and never looked back. We now have 4
CDs available, and regularly play a number of
festivals and faires, from Maine to Florida.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We love to play live, especially at Irish music festivals. Perhaps our favorite is the Stonehill Irish festival (now known as the Irish Connections Festival); this year (our third at the festival) we'll be appearing on the main stage!
Your musical influences
Our musical influences are very diverse, from
Amadeus to Zeppelin, but the strongest influences
are traditional music stars like Steeleye Span,
Dick Gaughan, Andy Irvine, Paul Brady, Andy Stewart, and great instrumentalists like Seamus
Ennis, Paddy Keenan, Tommy Peoples, Seamus
Connolly, and so many more. Because we emphasize
vocal harmony, we also show a strong influence
from modern bands like Simon & Garfunkel, the
Beatles, etc.
