Because We're Loved
Because We're Loved, the three-piece band formerly known as Definite Maybe, has been writing and playing music together since fall 2003. The band is not ashamed of their faith, as they hope is evident in many of their songs. With two EPs and a self-produced full length behind them, the band is continuing to move forward. Lyrics and genre are changing from less complex pop-punk to more creative music.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Because We're Loved is a three-piece Christian punk band. Their primary goal is to praise God through creative, thoughtful music. Michael, Nate, and Paul are all freshmen at Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana. The three have been playing music together since the fall of 2003. It was at that time that the three members, also with Jarrod Huffman, formed the band Definite Maybe. The band played simple, upbeat pop-punk. When Jarrod left the band in the summer of 2005, the band decided it was time for a change. The music progressed into more complex indie rock with obvious punk roots. Lyrical content has also deepened as the band has grown out of cliche relationship songs.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Playing live is the best part of being in a band. We play at local youth hangouts, churches, and schools. Touring to Canada was fun.
