The REAL BeatMasters were formed at Vance High School in Charlotte North Carolina in 2004. Member Xavier "Big Xae" Hawkins gained fame around school making beats for local acts, later he recieved city wide recognition for "being the one to come to for industry quality beats" hints the slogan "Big Xae got the Beats that'll Blow Yo Mind!" Big Xae later met Aswad "Young Oz" Umazar after learning about his keen ability to mix and master tracks and vocals. The first group the two were in was named "StreeWise" formed by students of Vance High School which were known figures around the school and in Charlotte and abroad. Later Young Oz and Big Xae became business partners, both realizing their different talents, joined with business mastermind who also attended Vance High, Tyrrell "T.Cherry" Cherry to form the Super Producing team with the TRADEMARKED name of "BEATMASTERS".
