06-Song of Hope 06-Song of Hope
Another long, long, loop, performed by my excellent tyro band. The drummer's right on top of a mean rhythm. The Saxman gets going at the end of the second cycle and blows one's head off. A slow build and gentle release . . . . .
05-City Streets 05-City Streets
A cheerful, rocky, climbing chord progression. Funks along noisily with a sax solo. Fades smoothly.
04-Freedom Fighter 04-Freedom Fighter
It's ten years since Frank Zappa died. We miss you, Frank.
03-Reach for the Sky 03-Reach for the Sky
Saxophone solo and guitar echo backing (from a hick country band), backed by a drummer whose world lies between two rhythms.

01-Old Times 01-Old Times
An electric orchestra starts quietly, ends triumphantly, as it explores an interesting and progressive musical theme, which takes you through many musical places, in its search for a sense of completion.

Taken from poem by Ana Mireles Tamayo. Simple rock band plays with the thoughts of a progressively disintegrating relationship, and an individual's urge to break free.
09-Are You? 09-Are You?
*REMASTERED - An electric jazz quintet plays a distinctive and idiosyncratic waltz-time melody, which climaxes early, restates itself powerfully, and then recedes gently into the distance. An unusual sixtime, ten bar loop.
07-On the Beach 07-On the Beach
Heavy guitar echo backing, slow but inevitable chord progression, grungy keyboard solos, ending in lead/bass guitar duet dancing into the distance with sad piano chords.
06-The Stars that Shine 06-The Stars that Shine
It's a strange Celtic reel (another riff without escape) played by a slowly accumulating electric orchestra, which departs suddenly, leaving sad blue strings to fade away into the distance.
05-Raindance 05-Raindance
An electric rock sextet guitar and bass back a feisty sax rendition of a waltz-time raindance, with a recklessly explosive drummer who holds himself back (almost!) for a shattering climax. Simple theme, but the chordal expansion goes on and on!
04-Barranco 04-Barranco
A tone poem for our electric orchestra. a flute and plucked string are overtaken by a horn and strings. A transition to a heavy rich string chord progression, and a transition back, ending up with a pastoral pipe.
03-Probe 03-Probe
Aggressive driving format exploring all aspects of the title. The drumming holds a tight pattern yet varies tonally. Seriously long funk piano breaks. Gradually builds to climax, fades thereafter.
02-cRaZy PaViNg 02-cRaZy PaViNg
*REMASTERED Punchy simple pop piano, bass, drums. Very few notes here, a trance-ey repeat, three little bridges, snappy drummy ending.
01-New York Skyline Blues 01-New York Skyline Blues
My brass section and a lone jazz guitarist repeat a long riff from which there is no escape. My fretless bass guitarist has all the fun developing his theme. My drummer brushes through without damage.
Doing Time on Planet Earth Doing Time on Planet Earth
A Serial . . . . from the beginning to the end of life. Small band tries many possibilities.
You're Coming In TOO FAST!!! You're Coming In TOO FAST!!!
Nasal organ, deep wuffly bass, insistent tappy drums, heavy jet-noises, system chimes and beeps, the rattle and thumps of munitions and ordnance - until it all goes wrong . . . . .
