Everything's different, everything's new: We have a NEW male singer. Sadly our old singer, Kristin, had to leave, a few months ago, and it was up to us to find someone who actually liked our stuff. Boy, did we find one. Martin, is our new front-shouter. And he is nothing but power. The new song we uploaded, called (the)Hip, was recorded live a month after he joined us! Since this is supposed to be an introduction, I perhaps should talk a bit about the history of the band. So here comes our "Press-Kit" again: BATS IN THE HEAD achieved cult-status during the last year here in Berlin. The Press loved their debut-record and the first song ("I Can't Tell You") was getting a lot of airplay and stayed in the top ten of the SoundClick charts for two months! They didn't waste much time since singer Kristin Target (coming from Magdeburg), drummer Thomas Schuetze (Berlin and of UKW-fame) and "stringers" (both are playing basses and guitars) Johann von Ciriacywantrup (Vienna, Austria) and Walter Greimers (Cologne) started the band in 1998, considering that they already toured half of America and the whole of Germany, worked with New Yorkian Producer Griff Stevens (among others Eric Burdon), shared the stage with Nicholas Tremulis (Smashing Pumpkins, Tom Waits) did support for Buddy Miles andsoonandsoforth... In June Kristin wished to leave the band due to very personal reasons that don't belong here. Suffice to say we parted as very, very good friends. After a very (believe me) intensive search we finally heard Martin Zeising. Being a professional stage actor, singer and writer, he brought with him a total different approach to the band. And though it was sad that we had lost our former singer we noticed pretty fast that this new singer was what the band had needed. We are currently working on our new Album which is planned to be released somewhere in Spring 2001. The working title is: "Sike-Frop"
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes! We live for it.
Your musical influences
We have folk in it, we have jazz in it, even country, oriental, reggea and metal. Somenone said: "You're playing sike-frop!" I guess he's right.
