Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
During its 22 year history, BASIC'LY BRASS! has performed hundreds of engagements throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. Some of our most noted venues have been the Rowatan Connecticut's Five Mile River Concert Series, Bethlehem Musikfest, Longwood Gardens, and the New York Brass Conference, where the quintet finished in the top three in the Bass Quintet Competition.
The members of BASIC'LY BRASS are John Copenhaver (trumpet), Chris Campbell (trumpet), Ken Kemmerer (tuba and arrangements), John Lemke (trombone), and Al Stokes (French horn).
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We are all professional musicians and play quite a bit both as individuals as well as with BASIC'LY BRASS! within the great Northeast Corridor (Washington, DC to New England).
Your musical influences
We each have our heroes, but we like to play music which is popular with our audiences and that which each of us is fond of.
