Story behind the song
This was inspired by a conversation with an old friend who is an EMT, in which he kind of assumed the moral high ground because he does, in fact, put his ass on the line every day a whole lot more than I do. The chorus features a couple of versions of a Tibetan prayer, and is kind of the Tibetan equivalent of the Southern INVALID bless his heart," which can be either genuine or ironic, or both at the same time.
