Welcome, my name is Michael Frazier. I am from Oregon and have been playing music and writing songs for over 30 years. As a realist writer I offer different pespectives on the lives we all live on this planet earth. Solo Recordings consist of my vocal, guitar and often flute solo's. Other recordings include the KNA duo, the full band sound of Connector and the Root 24 and 24 Carrot Band sessions. These fuller recordings are on other soundclick sites available on my links page. I lived the band dreams for many years and nowdays mostly do solo work or private gigs with friends. I'm just trying to keep it real and enjoyable and garner a bit of money on the side. Please enjoy.
This would be a lengthy answer. You would be better off visiting my web site at www://michaelfrazier.net
I do play live. Mostly I am doing coffee house and restaraunt type gigs or playing with friends at private special events. I have also been writing and performing a number of special event songs for folks retiring, getting married, having a baby - that type of thing. My favorite moments involve listeners crying to a song I played live. That's when I know I have written a really good song.
I had a great music teacher as a young child in grade school - he made it fun! Ever since I have been inclined to make some kind of noise. In college, I met Tim Korpita and he took the time to teach me some guitar chords. Today, my favorite is Bruce Cockburn though I grew up with Jackson Browne, Dan Fogelberg, The Eagles and many more. I enjoy a variety of musical styles but my writing and playing follow the lines of these more acoustic artists.
I'm not techno but for anyone interested I am using a Roland 1680 HD for recording. I also use an Art tube pre-amp for warmth and an Alesis midi-verb II for a splash of reverb etc. I capture everthing with an Audio Technica 4033 microphone. I also occasionally use the internal effects of the Roland if I want something more than reverb. Most of the time I play a Taylor dreadnaught though I occasionally play my old Washburn Prairie Song or my Taylor 12 string. Flute is a 70's model from Armstrong. Congas and Bonngos from Schalloch.
