My music is a mix of acoustic and electric, orchestral and ensemble, songs and compositions. Recently I have been writing with some talented people who are taking me in new directions.
Traveling Ed Teja has played venues as far ranging as Hong Kong’s Fringe Club, Texas Pit BBQ (Dutch St. Maarten,West Indies), Petite Galaous (French St. Martin), Gitano (Maturin, Venezuela), El Mochimero, (Mochima Venezuela), Medregal Village Resort (Venezuela), The Black Swan (Toronto, Canada), Bacchus Lounge (London, Canada), Waterloo Park, Waterloo Ice House and The Water Tank (Austin, TX). In 2003, he and harpist Jim Luke were featured on TV Ontario’s Studio 2.. He opened the acoustic day at the Silver City Blues Festival in 2003. In both 2003 and 2005 he performed at the Glenwood Folk Festival. In 2006 he appeared at the Tucson (AZ) Folk Festival. He currently performs solo, with the band Gypsy Feet, and as lead guitarist for Scott van Linge.
His first CD (Union City Blues) was recorded in St. Martin (FWI) in 2001 and released in Austin, TX. His second CD, with harpist Jim Luke, (Better Day) was released in 2002. In 2003, he made a featured appearance on TV Ontario, and was a featured performer on the title track of the CD THE REAL THING by Kenny and the Bluesmen, out of Austin, TX.
In 2005 one of his blues tunes was used by the Discovery Health Channel, and in 2007 he composed and recorded music for a documentary released on DVD by www.divingadream.org
I play frequently in New Mexico, occasionally Tucson (I appeared at the Tucson Folk Festival in 2006) and have gigged in strange places. Memorable gigs include the Convention Centre in Hong Kong (with the Lap Sap Blues Band), Venezuela and St. Martin (French West Indies).
