Pseudo Sun play psychedelic progressive spacerock.
Trying to find new areas of space to explore.
Pseudo Sun was formed by Darxtar bassist Juba after he split from the band in 1994. The plan of forming Pseudo Sun had already been in his mind for a couple of years, though the original plan was to run it along with Darxtar.
Since record companies didnt show interest Juba decided on releasing the debut CD " Future memoirs". Recorded with the help of a few friends.
In 97 Juba was joined by Mats Jassa Singh and Eric Lindesvard, and so the first real line-up was born.
In May 98 they started recording a new album, to be called "Atomic dogs dont bark".
In aug 98 PS made their debut gig at the Jönköping Space & Rock Festival, the bill also included Man, Nik Turner, Dark Sun, Darxtar, Spacious Mind, The Moor and others. More gigs followed in the autumn.
In march 00 PS made a mini-tour in Sweden with legendary Hawkwind saxophonist Nik Turner, playing a mix of PS songs and old Hawkwind songs. The tour went really well.
More gigs followed with a definite high-light at the 4th North German Hawk Fan Festival in Hamburg in June, where PS where joined by guests DarkSanttu from Dark Sun and Scott Heller on synthesizers.
In december PS played a few gigs, and so the most eventful year was over. In 01 PS took a short break, but gathered together again in March for a gig. A week later Mats Jassa Singh left the band to pursue a career of his own. That started the tediuos task of finding a new guitar player, which proved to be not so easy. Typically enough, after auditioning guitarists for a couple of months, PS finally found keyboardist Jens Lindstrand!
In August 2002 the new album finally came out to critical acclaim.
In November the new line-up of Juba, Jens and Eric made their debut gig in Helsinki, Finland.
A new guitarist was found in Jacob Forsell.
While waiting for the new album to be done, PS released a Live album, on vinyl only, called "Live Ghosts". Its a limited edition of only 130 copies.
Due to circumstances the band didnt play gigs until March 2005 when they finally emerged from the dark abyss of the rehearsal room.
Yes, we play everywhere, but mostly in Sweden. As we are at our best when we play live, we really enjoy getting on stage. Best memories so far ; a tour with former Hawkwind founder Nik Turner, and playing at the 4th Hawkfan meeting in Hamburg. Also the debut gig with lots of good bands on the bill.
